The relatives of young people unaccounted for after a devastating fire at a venue in a Switzerland's ski resort are facing an excruciating wait for answers and appealing for any details about their children online.

The inferno devastated the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of January 1st. Confirmed images reveal the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have warned that it could take days if not weeks to identify the victims of the disaster, which killed numerous partygoers and injured another scores more. Officials noted on the latest update that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work continuing to locate the remaining few.

In the interim, loved ones have been posting on social media to request information about their missing relatives who were present at the venue that night.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For

The location of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are still unconfirmed, according to an public plea from his mother.

The resident of Lutry near Lausanne, informed a local newspaper that she had returned to Lausanne to see if he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the same in the capital, but could not find him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, an ordeal. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. It's horrific," she stated.

She explained that some of his companions had been found with injuries covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's indescribable; they went through an absolute nightmare."

The Italian government has indicated that six of its citizens remain missing.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last in contact around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.

Included in that group is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, originally from Genoa but now residing in the UAE.

The Italian Golf Federation has stated that he is deceased, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "young athlete who carried with him dedication and true sportsmanship."

His father, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has indicated that a formal confirmation of his death is still pending.

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also among the missing. His parent told reporters that he had been on holiday but had gone out with a group and ended up at the bar.

"A close friend told me they fled after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he couldn't see him anymore," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his educators said, "I've always been struck by his good nature and smile, alongside great maturity. Often ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek citizenship but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to media.

Her sibling has published an urgent request on social media, saying the family has had "no news" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.

Consular authorities from her other nation say they are closely watching the developments.
