Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in domestic competition over two years since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
